Ranchi, March 21: Ajsu party MLA Suresh Mahto today cornered state government for giving the wrong reply in the assembly on the issue of giving unemployment allowance to unemployed youth.

Mahto said though the government has not given any incentive to the unemployed despite promising the same in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 budgets it has not accepted the same replying to a question on the matter.

Department minister Satyanand Bhokta cut a sorry figure when the situation came and he admitted the mistake saying in 2020-21 incentive was not given due to covid-19 and the next year the process was started. He promised that an incentive will be given this year.

On which Mahto said the government made budgetary provisions under different schemes to give incentives but did not give any incentives to unemployed youth. Now this year it has come with a new scheme. All this is like ditching youths.

The matter would be stretched long if speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto had not interfered.
