New Delhi, Aug 7: The maiden flight between Mumbai and Ahmedabad by Akasa Air took off on Sunday, and it was christened by MoS General Vijay Kumar Singh and Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya M Scindia.
On July 22, India’s newest airline Akasa Air on Friday opened ticket bookings for its first commercial flights with an initial network in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kochi.
Starting on August 7, 2022, Akasa Air, which operates under the airline code QP, will begin service by providing 28 weekly flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
The airline would then begin running an additional 28 weekly flights between Bengaluru and Kochi on August 13 as a result. Tickets for all events are now available for purchase.
The airline supported by renowned investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala acquired the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the governing Directorate General of Civil Aviation in July (DGCA).
The DGCA has established a thorough and rigorous process, and the grant of the AOC is the culmination of that process. It signifies that all regulatory and compliance requirements for the airline’s operational preparedness have been satisfactorily met.
