New Delhi, Jan 20: Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, would run in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections from Mainpuri’s Karhal constituency, informed sources on Thursday.
The SP chief, on the other hand, announced on Wednesday that he will run for Assembly after getting permission from Azamgarh citizens. Yadav is now the Member of Parliament for Azamgarh in the Lok Sabha.
Notably, elections to the 403 assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh will be contested in seven phases starting from February 10.
In Uttar Pradesh, voting will take place in seven rounds on February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27, and March 3 and 7. The results of the election will be announced on March 10.
