Animals are ATMs for farmers: CM

Ranchi, Aug.9: On the occasion of World Indigenous Day today Chief Minister (CM) Hemant Soren today distributed Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) and animals among farmers at the Project Bhawan secretariat

Assets of Rs 734 crore among 2 lakh farmers of 264 blocks were distributed across the state. Out of which 32 beneficiaries were present in during the CM’s programme. Out of 32, 20 were given KCCs, 10 were given animals while two vegetable vendors were given pick-up vans.

Distributing the assets, the CM said that from today farmers will be known as “Birsa Kisan’. . He said while agricultural land is a bank of farmers, animals are their ATM. He said the state will promote forest produce by providing a proper market and proper price for it.

On the occasion, farmers from Bokaro and Dumka talked to the CM on virtual mode. The CM took information regarding crop insurance and other agricultural works from them.

Mandar MLA Bandhu Tirkey and Kanke MLA Samri Lak present on the occasion also addressed the programme and praised the chief minister for his work.
