Ranchi, Aug.16: Newly inducted minister of Narendra Modi’s cabinet, Annapuran Devi, who had joined the BJP snapping her old relationship with RJD in March 2019, today started three-day Jan Ashirvad Yatra from her residence at Charadih in Koderma.
The development took place after the national leadership of BJP took the decision to take out Jan Ashirwad yatra by the newly inducted ministers in Narendra Modi’s cabinet.
In total 39 ministers, including union minister of state for education Devi will cover around 20,000 km in 19 states and 212 Lok Sabha constituencies. Each minister is set to travel a minimum of 400-500 km in three days.
Devi, who started her journey from Koderma today reached Hazaribagh, where she will take rest at night and by tomorrow 3pm she will reach Ranchi and day after tomorrow she will end her journey at Giridih.
Devi, starting her yatra expressed her gratitude toward her party and central leadership for giving an important assignment.
“I have been given a big responsibility by being included in the union cabinet and I will try to try to prove myself,” Devi said to a section of reporters in Koderma.
She said, for the first time Koderma Lok Sabha got a chance to be represented in the union cabinet.
Praising Modi for his stand for the development of all, she said: “Modi ji has given representation in the cabinet to leaders from all castes, societies and regions. 27 OBCs, 12 SCs, 8 STs, 11 women, and many young faces have been given responsibilities.”
Attacking the Congress she said: “Congress has disrupted the house and behaved inappropriately. She said despite the wrong policies of Congress, 20 important bills were passed, and the backward commission was given constitutional status.”
She is the second Lok sabha member from Jharkhand to have joined the Union cabinet after tribal affair minister Arjun Munda.
The concept of Jan Ashirwad yatra is significant as ministers will reach out to people to seek blessings and a message will be conveyed that the BJP-led government has given responsibilities to weaker sections and various communities.
Arun Kumar Jha, a local councilor and state executive member of the BJP, said party workers will welcome Devi tomorrow in accordance with the direction of BJP state organisation secretary Dharmapal Singh.
“I have been asked to remain present at Harmu Chowk along with noted Padma Shri awardee artist Mukund Nayak,” Jha said.
