Ranchi, Jan.5:The Anti-mob lynching bill failed to deter the mob mentality of the people in the state.

This was reflected after a mob beat a youth to death before setting him on fire in Kolebira in Simdega district represented by Congress MLA Naman Vixel Kongari.

Coincidentally, the youth was Hindu and this gave the BJP an opportunity to take a dig on the Hemant Soren government, which hurriedly introduced the bill in the state assembly during the winter session and got it passed without proper discussion saying after the 2014 incidents of mob lynching increased in the state and country.

“Will yesterday’s incident come under the purview of mob lynching or the recent law has been brought keeping a particular community in mind,” questioned BJP state general secretary Pradeep Verma through his tweet in the morning.

Villagers alleged 35-yr-old youth Sanju Pradhan cut sal trees from the Khutkatti forest and burnt him alive. The villagers from Bambalkera went to his house in Munda dominated village, Besrajera, to take him out before beating him to death and setting him on fire.
