Anti-nationals are those who don’t allow fund to reach the last person: Sonam Wangchuk

Ranchi, April 25: Prominent innovator and environmentalist of India Sonam Wangchuk today said anti-nationals are those who do not allow the government’s fund to reach the last person of society and thus slow down the development process of the country.

Wangchuk was addressing a session on the first day of a two-day conference on “Re-Engineering CSR” at Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) headquarters here.

Wangchuk, who is a mechanical engineer by profession, said one should do PSR before CSR. He explained PSR as personal social responsibility. He defined CSR as a work of ensuring a better tomorrow and asked the audience to spend CSR funds on those works which can make the country’s future bright instead of giving a short-term gain.

Suggesting where to use the CSR fund he gave first priority to education and then environment. Explaining why to use the CSR fund for the environment, he said: “Education without a planet will not work.”

Earlier, he clarified that he has no problem with the people working against India but from those who are inside the country and creating hurdle in the process of development.

A slew of eminent speakers from throughout the country have turned up in the event for talking and deliberating on the subject. It is serving as a gathering place for corporations and development sector organizations to share information and hear success stories.

Around 200 participants from different parts of the country are participating in the conference to hear a bevy of notable individuals share their experiences and deliberate on the subject. CIL and its subsidiaries are participating in panel discussions and sharing best practices.

An exhibition featuring CIL and its subsidiaries showcasing their best practices was also organized.

Apart from Wangchuk, among the guest speakers included chairperson of Centre for CSR, IIFM Bhopal, Parul Rishi besides CEO of Himalayan Institute of Alternatives Ladakh Gitanjali and others.
