Ranchi, July 7: The Jharkhand High court on Thursday snubbed Pradeep Kumar, the circle officer of Ratu block of Ranchi district for not discharging his duties properly. Justice KP Deo even asked the circle officer whether or not he is ashamed of his conduct. The court asked whether or not an anti-corruption inquiry was instituted against him. Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan was present during the hearing of the case.

The court made the observation while hearing a petition filed by one Rohit Anand. The petitioner said that in 2020 he had submitted an application for jamabandi of his land situated under Ratu revenue circle. But despite the request his application was kept pending.

Taking a strong note of the matter, the court asked the circle officer that while drawing Rs one lakh monthly salary was he serious and honest towards his duty.  The circle officer was unable to reply when the court asked how many halka employees were working in Ratu circle. The court asked the Ranchi DC to explain the policy related to transfer and posting of employees at the circle offices besides tenure of posting of current employees.  The DC on this said that any transfer and posting is done with due permission of the department. On this, the court said that whether or not the in-charge chief secretary should be asked to come before the court and explain the rule.
