New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing it of making Delhi the “crime capital of India.” Speaking at a press conference, Kejriwal highlighted rising instances of robbery, chain snatching, and gang wars, alleging that women feel unsafe leaving their homes due to the law and order situation.

He further stated, “The BJP hates the people of Delhi, which is why it hasn’t returned to power in the capital for 25 years.”

Promise of RWA Funding for Enhanced Security

Kejriwal assured residents that if the AAP government is formed, the Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) will receive funds from the Delhi government to hire private security guards for their areas.

“Residents will be empowered to appoint private security guards, and adequate funds will be allocated to every RWA for this purpose,” he said. Drawing a parallel to the installation of CCTV cameras, he emphasized that private security measures would also help in reducing crime rates.

Criticism of Amit Shah and BJP

Accusing the BJP of failing to address rising crimes in Delhi, Kejriwal criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah, saying that despite increasing crime rates, no action has been taken. He labeled BJP as a “protest party” and accused them of creating voter suppression strategies.

Kejriwal further alleged that BJP is misusing the Rohingya issue to remove Purvanchali voters from the electoral rolls, claiming to have lodged a complaint with the Election Commission.

The AAP leader reiterated his commitment to making Delhi safer and promised reforms that would prioritize public welfare and security under his party’s governance.
