Ranchi: The Housing Committee of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly has embarked on a week-long study tour from May 13 to 19. During the tour, the committee will visit six districts—Jamshedpur, Seraikela, Khunti, Hazaribagh, Chatra, and Latehar—to conduct meetings with Deputy Commissioners and other district officials. The focus will be on assessing the status of government building projects, and site inspections will be carried out where necessary.
Focus areas of the study
The committee has outlined key review points to evaluate the effectiveness and progress of government infrastructure in these districts. These include:

Current condition of previously constructed government buildings.

Repair and maintenance activities carried out in the last three years.

Correspondence with the state government regarding new construction and repair needs.

Availability of fire-fighting systems and lightning conductors in buildings.

Arrangements for clean and potable drinking water.

Availability of electricity and solar energy solutions.

Sanitation facilities in government offices.

Conditions of government schools and hostels.

Status of housing schemes like Abua Awas and PM Awas Yojana.

Objective and scope
The committee aims to gather firsthand data to present informed recommendations to the assembly. The study is part of an ongoing effort to enhance the efficiency and safety standards of government infrastructure across Jharkhand.
