Dumka, Oct 25: Former chief minister and BJP leader Babulal Marandi has on Monday written a letter to Railway Minister Ashwin Vaishnava for introducing two long-distance trains from the sub-capital town Dumka.
While praising the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the adept management by Vaishnava he has stated in the letter that the Indian railway was well fulfilling its socioeconomic responsibility.
The works are seriously on to connect Jharkhand from various faraway and important destinations, Marandi has stated demanding for the introduction of new trains between Howrah and New Delhi via Dumka and another train between Guwahati and New Delhi via Dumka.
Both the trains will go a long way in the development of the people of Dumka and adjoining districts of Santhal Pargana in terms of direct connectivity with the northern and northeastern region, he has stated.
Apart from the improvement in travelling facilities for the local people both the trains will provide opportunities to the local farmers and artisans to avail wider markets for their products which in turn will also restrict the migration of local people to faraway places for livelihood.
