Ranchi, Jan 6: Condemning the Maoist attack on former MLA Gurucharan Nayak on Tuesday last, former Jharkhand CM Babulal Marandi took a jibe at the state government.
He said that CM Hemant Soren should tell the public whose government runs in the state. The statement of the former CM came during the press conference organised at the BJP state headquarters.
Marandi said that his pre-determined schedule of reaching the spot was prevented by the Chakradharpur police personnel citing security reasons in the bright daylight which puts a question on how the common man of the state must be living in rural areas.
“The government of goons and mafia is going on in Jharkhand and the Chief Minister is either scared or surrounded by criminals and Naxalites. The government has engaged the police in the task of extorting them and pursuing their political rivalry by getting them out of their work,” said Marandi.
He further said that the rule of Hemant Soren and police is not running in many districts of Jharkhand, but a parallel government of Naxalites is running there. The government and the police are just looking at everything helplessly.
“The incident happened at 6 p.m. in Sonua and the spot is just one and a half kilometres away from the main road. But the police did not even go there to pick up the bodies of the security personnel in the night. One can imagine that when the police did not reach to collect the bodies of their own people, then how safe the general public is there,” Marandi added.
Marandi said that the area is not even in a rugged forest. This incident shows that the police of the state are either cowardly or the situation in that area is very frightening.
“The incident was narrating the horrific scene of the state and if the government does not curb extremism in time, the situation will become dire,” Marandi further added.
