Ranchi, Aug.28: BJP state president Babulal Marandi’s brother Ramia Marandi today dared the JMM government to take action against Santhal Pargana Builders Private Limited (SPBPL).

Ramia issued a statement after JMM spokesman Supriyo Bhattacharya linked him to liquor baron Jogendra Tiwari, whom the ED is investigating in the liquor scam.

Bhattacharya had said that Ramia alongwith Lalima Tiwari, wife of Sunil Tiwari, had invested black money in the firm.

The JMM has dug out this case to target Babulal Marandi, who is on a whirlwind tour of Santhal Pargana exposing misdeeds of the JMM government in the run up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Ramia admitted that he was one of the directors of the said company, Santhal Pargana Builders Private Limited, in 2005 but when it came to his knowledge that another director Jogendra Tiwari has started dealing in land and liquor he distanced himself from the company and got separated in 2011.

Ramia said that it was wrong on the part of the JMM and the Congress to associate his name with the company 12 years after he distanced himself from the company.

Babulal’s brother said it was expected from the state government to register an FIR and seize property of the company. “Inaction on the part of the government reflects its weakness and incapability to take action in the matter,” he added.
