New Delhi, April 28: In the second round of the Asian Championships in Manila, Philippines, India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty defeated Japan’s Akira Koga and Taichi Saito 21-17, 21-15. The Satwik-Chirag duo has advanced to the tournament’s quarterfinals with this victory.

P V Sindhu continued her excellent form shortly after, winning a straightforward 21-16, 21-16 victory over Singapore’s Yue Yann Jaslyn Hooi to advance to the women’s singles quarterfinals.

Saina Nehwal will compete in the women’s singles event later today, while Kidambi Srikanth will compete in the men’s singles event against China’s Weng Hong Yang.
