New Delhi, Dec 4: BCCI declared on Sunday that Rishabh Pant had been removed from the ODI squad for the Bangladesh series, after checking with the medical staff.
The BCCI has released an update to clarify why Pant was not chosen for the match on Sunday after KL Rahul was announced as the wicketkeeper for the opening game.

The cricket governing body said on Twitter that Pant was cut from the team and will re-join it before the Test series. The 25-year-replacement old’s has not yet been announced. Axar Patel was also listed by BCCI as being unavailable for selection for the opening ODI.
“In consultation with the BCCI Medical Team, Rishabh Pant has been released from the ODI squad. He will join the team ahead of the Test series. No replacement has been sought Axar Patel was not available for selection for the first ODI,” said the BCCI.
