New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has published the list of bank holidays for November 2024, with banks set to close for a total of 12 days across various states. These closures include regional festivals, official observances, and regular weekend breaks, with the schedule varying by location. Here’s the detailed breakdown to help plan your bank visits this month.

Bank Holidays in November: Full List by Date and State

  • November 1 (Friday): Deepavali, Kut, and Kannada Rajyotsava – Banks closed in Tripura, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and Manipur.
  • November 2 (Saturday): Diwali, Laxmi Puja, Govardhan Pooja – Banks closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh (note: first Saturday, not a holiday in all states).
  • November 3 (Sunday): Nationwide closure for Sunday.
  • November 7 (Thursday): Chhath (Evening Arghya) – Banks closed in Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand.
  • November 8 (Friday): Chhath (Morning Arghya) / Wangala Festival – Banks closed in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Meghalaya.
  • November 9 (Saturday): Nationwide closure for the second Saturday.
  • November 10 (Sunday): Nationwide closure for Sunday.
  • November 15 (Friday): Guru Nanak Jayanti / Karthika Purnima / Rahas Purnima – Banks closed in Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Telangana, and several other states.
  • November 17 (Sunday): Nationwide closure for Sunday.
  • November 18 (Monday): Kanakadasa Jayanti – Banks closed in Karnataka.
  • November 23 (Saturday): Seng Kutsnem (Meghalaya) and Fourth Saturday closure.
  • November 24 (Sunday): Nationwide closure for Sunday.

The RBI categorizes these holidays into three groups: Negotiable Instruments Act holidays, Real Time Gross Settlement holidays, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts. Customers are advised to consult this schedule to avoid disruptions.
