Dhanbad, Oct 25: The Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) has derecognized the Saraswati Vidya Mandir Bhuli Committee for violation of the agreement by the Vidya Bhartiya Prantiya Samiti Ranchi
The sources in BCCL said that since Vidya Bharti Prantiya Samiti changed Saraswati Vidya Mandir Bhuli local managing committee on October 2 without obtaining permission from the Director, Personnel (DP) who is the chairman of the Advisory Committee, the coal company has derecognized it.
In the wake of the Durga Puja festival, the Director Personnel cleared the salary of teachers and staff of the school on October 7 at the request of the old committee secretary but has held up other files recommended by the new management committee.
The BCCL runs two schools of Vidya Bharti, one at Bhuli and another at the Sindidih colliery area. As per the agreement, the BCCL Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD) is the supreme authority while Director Personnel and Area General Manager will head the Advisory Committee and local Managing Committee to deal with day-to-day affairs.
As per the agreement, without the permission of BCCL DP, Vidya Bharti Prantiya Samiti Ranchi would not change the committee members.
“But on October 2, without taking approval of BCCL DP, the Vidya Bhartiya Prantiya Samiti changed vice-president Sudhir Kumar Singh, secretary (retired Prof SKL Das), treasurer Ashok Kumar, guardians representatives, and others. So, the BCCL management has derecognized the new committee and decided to stop releasing grants any further to the school” said a senior official of the BCCL, who requested not to quote his name as the matter is related to the DP.
As per the agreement between the BCCL and Vidya Bharti Prantiya Samiti Ranchi, the BCCL general manager of the area where the school runs will be the ex-officio chairman of the local managing committee. The local committee will be re-constituted after every three years. But the Vidya Bharti Prantiya Samiti changed the members of the committee only in two years.
Two representatives of the BCCL including the chairman, two members of parents, two educationists/experts or principals of school, and two representatives of the Society of Vidya Vikash Samiti would be members of the local managing committee.
A sacked member of the committee said that the Vidya Bhartiya Prantiya Samiti is using the school as its milking cow and realizes a heavy amount including a loan every year given by the BCCL.
“Rajkamal Saraswati Vidya Mandir Ashok Nagar in Dhanbad is also a Vidya Bhartiya institution but it takes only Rs 100 per student,” said the sacked member.
