Kolkata, Dec 15: The 28th Kolkata International Film Festival 2022 is likely to be inaugurated by Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan at Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on Thursday. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee will preside over the inaugural ceremony.
The biggest personalities to attend the Kolkata International Film Festival 2022 are Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, actress Jaya Bachchan, actor and brand ambassador of Bengal Shahrukh Khan, actor and Trinamool Congress MP Shatrughan Sinha, former captain of the Indian cricket team Sourav Ganguly, actress Rani Mukherjee, also many known faces of Bengali films and music industry will be present.
This year, a total of 183 films from 42 countries will be screened at the film festival. After the inaugural ceremony, Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s ‘Abhimaan’ will be screened on a huge screen at Netaji Indoor Stadium to pay tribute to the legendary filmmaker Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Also, Amitabh Bachchan’s Deewar, Kala Patthar, Black, Anand, Mili, Bemisal and other films will be shown. The Satyajit Ray Memorial Lecture will be delivered by the filmmaker Sudhir Mishra.
The Kolkata International Film Festival is to be held from today till December 22.
