Dhanbad, April 25: Two bike-borne criminals looted Rs 3.72 lakh cash at gunpoint from an employee of a grain trader on Polytechnic Road under the Dhanbad Sadar police station on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened around 12.50 pm.  The victim employee identified as Gautam Kumar was returning to his Baramuri-based office from Bhaga Area on a bike after collecting the money from shopkeepers.

Two bike-borne miscreants, who were allegedly following Gautam, intercepted him at a place on Polytechnic Road and snatched the bag containing  3.72 lakh cash. The miscreants allegedly beat up Gautam when he tried to resist and branded a pistol to shoot for keeping mum.

The miscreants who were on Pulsar bike, as Gautam claimed, fled after the incident.

The victim staff immediately informed his owner Ramashish Sab and the Dhanbad Sadar police about the incident. The police patrolling team reached the spot in no time but did not get any clue about the criminals.

A police officer of Dhanbad Sadar police station who reached the spot immediately said that an investigation would be started after proper interrogation of the employee about the incident.
