Ranchi, June 7: Be it a closed room or an open place like Main Road, criminals are not hesitating to commit crimes in the Jharkhand capital.

Today two bike-borne criminals looted Rs 55,000 from a fish trader and fled showing fear of firearms. This incident took place between Dibdih flyover and Satellite Chowk under the Doranda police station area of the Jharkhand capital. Upon getting information, officials of Jagarnathpur police station and Doranda police station reached the spot and started the investigation of the case.

Earlier on June 2, criminals looted Rs 3.50 lakh in broad daylight on the main road of the capital. They were also bike-borne. They targeted Mohammed Mehboob who was going to withdraw money from one bank and deposit it in another bank. The criminals escaped after they robbed the bank customer. While fleeing, their vehicle crashed but managed to escape leaving their vehicle. One of the criminals fled towards Hindpiri Central Street and the other towards Konka Road. Police so far have made no breakthrough in the case.

A resident of Sarveshwari Nagar under the Pandra police station area, Nikunt Kumar Mishra, expressed his concern over the incident holding poor policing responsible for the same. He shared how miscreants decamped with ornaments and cash from his house in broad daylight.

“My family members had gone to attend a function. On June 1 at 1 pm I left my house after properly closing the door. When I returned at 7 pm in the evening, I found locks broken and ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh and Rs 10,000 cash missing. Apart from this, I also found certificates of my son besides some files missing from the house. All this is happening due to poor policing. Police hardly take initiatives to create awareness and take support of common people to check the crime,” he said.

Regarding this incident, an official at Pandra police station said the primary investigation suggested the hand of local drug addict boys.
