BIT Sindri holds workshop on cyber defense engineering

Dhanbad, July 14: BIT Sindri’s Career Development Centre (CDC) in collaboration with Youth4nation and Cyber Vidyapeeth Foundation held a workshop on cyber defence engineering titled ‘National Security Paradigm and Asymmetric Warfare’.

BIT Sindri Director Dr DK Singh inaugurated the workshop and emphasized on the institution’s contribution to academic excellence and its commitment to holistic development. “Aim of this workshop is to bridge the gap between the institution’s curriculum and requirements of industries,” he said.

Shashank Shekhar Garuryar, chairman of Cyber Vidyapeeth Foundation, while addressing shed light on the increasing spate of cyber-attacks and the need for skilled professionals in the field of cyber security. He said it is an opportunity for students to explore potential careers in cyber security path.

Guest speaker Raman Puri (retired) delivered an insightful speech on the importance of national security and the power of choosing leaders with a “nation-first” philosophy. He emphasized that India is a country with a rich cultural civilization and highlighted the significance of safeguarding its interests.

Gen Vishnu Kant Chaturvedi highlighted the values and principles exemplified by figures such as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Aurobindo Ghosh and Swami Vivekananda. Gen Chaturvedi encouraged students to strive for excellence in their chosen fields.

Chief mentor Balaji Venketeshwar delivered a detailed presentation on asymmetric warfare, outlining its implications and significance in the modern world. He discussed the need for a comprehensive course program in Cyber Defense and highlighted the wide range of job opportunities available in the field.

Dr Ghanshyam, chairman of CDC, summarized the key insights of the speakers’ presentations. Dr Mamta Verma, director of Cybervidyapeeth Foundation, and Shri Ramesh Sharma, mentor of the Cybervidyapeeth Foundation, were also present on the occasion.
