BIT Sindri welcomes new session students with induction ceremony

Dhanbad, Sept 12: A new era began today for the newly admitted 2023  session students of BIT Sindri on the campus.

On the occasion, an induction ceremony was organized at Deshpande Auditorium by BIT Sindri Sports Club to ensure a smooth engaging experience for the newly enrolled students.

Pranay Jha, Saurav Kumar (computer science engineering branch), Manoj Oraon (mechanical engineering) and Manisha Munda (electrical engineering branch)  made the students aware of BIT’s traditions and customs.

In the induction ceremony, BIT Sindri director  Prof. Pankaj Rai, Prof. Ghanshyam, Prof. R.K. Verma, deans and heads of various departments, including Prof. Prakash Kumar, Prof. Maya Rajnarayan Rai, Prof. Abul Kalam, Prof. S.C. Dutta, Prof. Jitu Kujur, Prof. D.N. Rai, Prof. Manoj Kumar, Prof. M.G. Tiyari, Prof. Nirmala Soren, Prof. J.N. Mahato were also present.

BIT Sindri director  Prof. Pankaj Rai while addressing the students shed light on invaluable life lessons, stressing the significance of discipline and discussing the new education policy.

Prof. (Dr.) Ghanshyam, Chairman, Training and Placement Officer, Career Development Centre, informed them about the legacy and placements of the college, emphasizing the importance of soft skills and domain-specific knowledge.

Dr. R.K. Verma, general warden & HoD Physics, extended a warm welcome to the new batch, emphasizing the importance of dreaming big and not letting go of one’s aspirations.

Prof Dhaneshwar provided a comprehensive overview of academics, curriculum, attendance, and examination systems, also touching upon the National Education Program (NEP).

Prof. C. Thakur, Dr Maya Raj Narayan, Dr Nirmala Soren, dean of research and consultancy, highlighted the value of research in students’ academic journeys, while Prof. Upendra Prasad, dean of student welfare, introduced new courses and emphasized personality development.

Dr. Prakash Kumar, Professor in charge of the Startup and Incubation Centre and dean of alumni, spoke about startups, innovation, internships, vocational training and research-oriented study, preparing students for a dynamic future.

Sneha Sunny, a 2020 batch student of production and engineering, proposed a vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the Induction Programme chairman Prof RK Verma, convener Prof Ravishankar Prasad, coordinator Bhawesh Kumar and the entire organizing team of Sports Club for their exceptional management.
