Ranchi, Feb.25: The Jharkhand BJP has asked Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh to probe irregularities in using the DMFT fund and implementation of the Union sponsored welfare schemes in Latehar, which is hardly 100 km from here.

Party’ state president and Rajya Sabha member Deepak Prakash has raised the demand through a letter to Singh. Copy of the letter has also been given to DGP Ajay Kumar Singh. The BJP leader made news items published on February 19 as bases for investigation.

The letter indicates that a scam involving crores of crores of DMFT funds in purchase of 2000 solar street lights took place. Apart from this, the letter also indicates that irregularities were made in the implementation of the Union sponsored welfare schemes due to which a deserving beneficiary got deprived of benefit while non-deserving got benefitted.

The Rajya Sabha member giving an example informs the chief secretary that Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana had fallen prey to middlemen in Manika block. In Ranki Kala and Mohan Tand villages of the block, he said, money was withdrawn in the name of the beneficiary without construction of a PM house.
