Ranchi, March 3: The Opposition BJP on Thursday interrupted the budget session of the Jharkhand Assembly to demand 27 percent reservation for the OBCs in the Panchayat poll. The BJP also accused the Hemant Soren  government for delaying the Panchayat poll in the name of pandemic. Nevertheless, in the last cabinet the government announced to hold the panchayat polls.

As the House started at 11.8 AM all the BJP MLAs namely Anant Ojha, Naveen Jaiswal, Ramchandra Chandravanshi, Randheer Kumar Singh, Amar Kumar Bauri, Amit Mandal, Neera Yadav, Jai Prakash Bhai Patel, Kushwaha Shashi Bhushan Mehta trooped in the well of the House along with placards.

They refused repeated plea of assembly Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahto to return  to their seats and allow the proceedings of the House.

Health Minister Banna Gupta charged that it was the BJP which had reduced the OBC reservation from 27 percent to 14 percent. He said that when Babulal Marandi was chief minister of Jharkhand the OBC reservation was reduced.

The speaker adjourned the House till 12 O’ Clock.
