Dhanbad, Feb. 4: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today alleged that the opposition party (BJP) does not want a tribal and local people to become chief minister of Jharkhand.
Hemant Soren, who was addressing the 51st foundation day rally of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) at Dhanbad Golf Ground said that in 23 years of statehood no tribal leader was allowed to remain chief minister for more than three years. The first chief minister of Jharkhand, Babulal Marand, was removed before he could complete three years in office. After Arjun Munda became chief minister he also was sacked before three years.

Soren, who is executive president of the JMM, without naming BJP said that a tribal is not allowed to complete even three years but at the same time a Chhattisgarhi ( Raghubar Das) was kept chief minister and allowed to complete five years of term.
While addressing a rally of the JMM workers and supporters, the chief minister said that the opposition party (BJP) has double standard policy . “In Gujarat where it is in power makes a Gujarati chief minister, in Maharashtra it makes a Maharashtrian as chief minister and in Bihar a Bihari chief minister. But in Jharkhand it instals non-Jharkhandi,” he pointed out.
The JMM executive president said now a Jharkhandi ( Hemant Soren) has become chief minister, the opposition party is trying to remove by levelling false charges and hatching a conspiracy.
“But as long as the Shibu Soren family is alive no nefarious design of the opposition party in Jharkhand would be allowed to succeed,“ thundered Hemant Soren drawing massive applause from the party activists.
Hemant Soren charged that whenever he makes a welfare policy in the interest of local people and tribals that is blocked by calling it unconstitutional but at the same time the same type of legislation in other states becomes constitutional which proves nefarious designs of the opposition party.

The chief minister held the central government responsible for the strike of contractual ANMs, Sahiyas and other health workers in the state. “The Central government has left you in the lurch. But the state government is concerned with your( agitating ANM, health staff) problems and will do the needful in this regard soon,” he added.
The JMM executive president said that the people of UP and Bihar have captured all government jobs in Jharkhand. His government is trying to reserve 100% of jobs in 4th grade for local people of state but the centre is opposing it, he added.
JMM supremo Shibu Soren also addressed the rally and called upon to focus on education and agriculture.
Since the chief minister reached Dhanbad around 2.50 hours behind schedule ( 3.14 pm) only JMM MP Mahua Majhi, Tundi MLA Mathura Prasad Mahto and Giridih MLA Sudivya Kumar were allowed to address the rally.
