Ranchi, Nov.19: The BJP, the main opposition party of Jharkhand, took serious note of the agitation the JMM has started in Jamshedpur to mount pressure on Tatas to give 75 percent job to locals and award tender of Rs one crore limit to ‘Moolvasis’ and ‘Adivasis’.
“It will adversely affect the industrial atmosphere of the state and those willing to establish their units in the state will abort their plan and finally the state will be the loser,” BJP president Deepak Prakash said.
Another party worker supported Prakash saying apparently it was a hidden reason Tatas decided to shift headquarters of Tata Motors and Tata Cummins to Pune.
“Though the JMM workers show that they started agitation after Tatas decided to shift headquarters to Pune but Tata, whose unit has been operational for the last 150 years in this place, must have planned to shift after having hinted of the JMM’s plan and they must have anticipated trouble in the long run. At the time when investors are being called by organising meetings, an established investor is planning to shift its headquarters to Maharastra,” the BJP worker said.
Meanwhile, JMM spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya during a press conference here said the agitation will continue.
“Earlier we fought for our identity. Now we will fight for our rights and the beginning has been started from Tata,” he said.
He also said that the companies which hammered on our chest for 150 years are now planning to shift when its self-interest gets fulfilled.
