New Delhi: Early election trends indicate a strong performance by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal and Assam, while actor Vijay’s party TVK is emerging as a frontrunner in Tamil Nadu, reshaping the political landscape across key states.

BJP Gains Momentum in Bengal and Assam
According to early trends, the BJP is leading in a majority of seats in West Bengal, positioning itself close to forming the government. Out of 248 seats, BJP is ahead in 164 seats, while the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is trailing with leads in 81 seats. In Assam, the BJP is also maintaining a strong lead with 79 seats, while the Congress is ahead in 24 seats, indicating continued dominance in the state.

TVK Emerges as Strong Challenger in Tamil Nadu
In Tamil Nadu, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by Vijay, is leading with 107 seats, ahead of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) at 64 seats. The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) is trailing with 41 seats, marking a significant shift in the state’s political dynamics and highlighting TVK’s growing influence.

Leaders React to Early Trends
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari expressed gratitude to voters following the early lead. He attributed initial fluctuations in trends to the sequencing of vote counting across different booths, stating that the party gained momentum as more results were revealed.

High-Stakes Political Shift Underway
The early trends suggest a potentially major political shift, especially in West Bengal, where the BJP is aiming to form its first government, and in Tamil Nadu, where TVK’s performance signals the rise of a new political force. Final results are expected after completion of all counting rounds.
