Bihar, Dec 15: In the wake of the hooch tragedy in the Saran district of Bihar, several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs protested outside Bihar Legislative Assembly in Patna on Thursday.
As per the information, CM Nitish Kumar was seen entering the state assembly amid the demonstrations and was also seen greeting some protesting MLAs as he entered the premises.
The protesters were carrying banners and raising slogans against the Bihar government. The BJP has been targeting Nitish Kumar over hooch deaths in the state where 39 people have lost their lives after consuming spurious liquor in Bihar’s Chapra district.
Earlier, on the hooch tragedy, CM Nitish Kumar said, “If someone consumes spurious liquor, they will die’ as he came under heavy pressure on his alleged failed excise policy”.
Moreover, the Chapra hooch tragedy triggered a massive political slugfest in the state assembly.
