Dhanbad, June 22: BJP Dhanbad poll strategist and executive member of Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) Vinay Kumar Singh has joined the AJSU (p) of Sudesh Mahto.
AJSU Dhanbad district president Mantu Mahto giving this information to media persons said that the state president has appointed Vinay Kumar Singh as general secretary of the industry and trade wing of the organization.
In this regard, central committee spokesperson Dr Devisharan Bhagat has issued a letter to Vinay Kumar Singh. He was scheduled to join the AJSU in the presence of Sudesh Mahto in Dhanbad but due to the cancellation of the party president’s tour at the last minute, he took membership from the district president.
Vinay Kumar Singh is considered an influential executive member of the JSCA. He also served the Dhanbad District Cricket Association (DCA) as general secretary for eight years before plunging into the state association last year.
Soft-spoken, Vinay Kumar Singh is also the general secretary of the Dhanbad District Hotels Association and president of the Dhanbad District Builders Association.
Vinay Singh is considered to have good political acumen in Dhanbad who does politics renaining behind the scene. He played a major role in retaining the Jharia constituency of ‘ Singh Mansion’ (the family of late 4-time MLA Surajdeo Singh) from 2004 to 2014.
Vinay Singh joining the AJSU has surprised political pundits of the coal belt as he was considered a strategist of the BJP in the Jharia assembly constituency.
He was the right hand man of Kunti Devi (wife of late Jharia MLA Surajdeo Singh) who won the Jharia assembly seat as a BJP candidate in 2004 and later her son Sanjiv Singh won in 2009 and 2014. Moreover, Vinay Singh shot into the political limelight in 2010 when he steered Indu Devi, a novice politician, as the first mayor of Dhanbad in the election.
Even in the 2019 assembly election, he was the main guiding force of BJP Jharia candidate Ragni Singh (wife of Sanjiv Singh).
“I am associated with trade activities. Traders and industrialists have many problems and they wanted a proper platform to raise their issues. I considered the AJSU to be an able organization to provide the platform and solve problems. I have been given new responsibility and would work as per the directive of party supreme,” said Vinay Singh.
