Ranchi, Nov.4: Former chief minister and BJP legislature party chief, Babulal Marandi, today termed Hemant Soren a ‘bojh (burden)’ for the state and said that the party will continue its agitation till it kicks out Soren.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP state headquarters a day after Soren defied ED’s summon and threw open challenge to the investigating agency to arrest him if he has committed any mistake instead of questioning him, Marandi said that Soren should respect the law of land and he should not forget that he has got the mandate to take proper care of Jharkhand and not to plunder its mines and minerals.
“Mandate Rajya Chalane Ke Liye Mila Hai….Adivasi Mukhyamantri Ko Lootne Ka Licence Nahi Mila Hai. (mandate has been given to run the state…tribal CM has not got license to loot the state…” he said.
Marandi said if Soren had taken the former’s words seriously such a situation had not come in the state before sharing how he had alerted the CM on the issue of illegal mining and transportation of stone from Sahibganj one and a half years ago playing a role of perfect opposition and how his words were not taken seriously.
Marandi said Soren is being guided by some external force which is more powerful than him and the present situation of ED action is outcome of that guidance of the external force. He said he realised the influence of external power superior than the CM in the governance when DSPs transfer order was stayed twice after issuance of notification under external influence. Earlier, he explained the process of transfer of DSPs and said how tough is it to stay the transfer order when finalised.
While addressing party workers at the gate of his official residence, chief minister Soren had expressed his concern over the block level protest against the government by the BJP and asked the party workers to identify the protesters to give them befitting reply at an opportune moment.
Taking strong exception to this, Marandi warned Soren to be careful while saying anything undemocratic and said he will ask his party workers to share their photographs and other relevant details with the chief minister’s office for the convenience of the chief minister. He said the party workers are not afraid of such threatening.
“Chori Bhi Aur Sinajori Bhi. Yah Nahi Chalega,” Marandi said.
Asked whether Soren is being targeted as he belongs to a non-BJP ruled state, he rubbished the perception and asked journalists to remember how Lalu Prasad and father of Hemant Soren, Shibu Soren, were arrested when there was no BJP rule at the Centre. He said constitutional bodies take action after weighing the merit of the case.
