Tarn Taran, June 24: In Punjab’s Tarn Taran area on Friday night, the Border Security Force (BSF) shot down a Pakistani drone that had violated Indian airspace.
“On June 23, 2023, at around 9:12 pm, BSF intercepted movement of a suspected drone near Village – T J Singh, District – Tarn Taran. As per the laid down drill, BSF troops immediately reacted to intercept the drone,” BSF Punjab Frontier said.
A broken drone was found in a field next to the village of Lakhana at around 8:10 on Saturday morning following a joint search operation with the Punjab Police, BSF said.
The drone that was found is a DJI Matrice 300 RTK class quadcopter.
The BSF added that another Pakistani drone was found in the Ferozepur sector thanks to the combined efforts of the BSF and Punjab Police.
The BSF in Punajb’s Fazilka earlier on June 22 discovered a drone coming from Pakistan’s side and two parcels of suspected narcotics close to the Abohar border.
“On specific information, alert BSF troops recovered a Pakistani drone (DJI Matrice 300 RTK) on June 22, during morning hours along with 2 kg (appx) suspected heroin near the international border in Jodhawala village of Fazilka district,” BSF Punjab Frontier said.
