Ranchi, Aug.24: The State Cabinet today approved an increase in dearness allowance (DA) of the state government employees and it will be effective from July 1, 2021.
The DA of employees getting salary in accordance with the recommendation of the 6th pay commission has been increased to 189 percent from 164 while the same employees getting salary in accordance with the recommendation of 5th pay commission has been increased to 356 percent from 312 percent.
Accordingly, the dearness relief of pensioners has also been increased to 189 percent from 164 percent and it will also be effective from the same date.
Apart from the DA, the recommendation of the finance department for paying the housing allowance to state government employees on the pattern of the central government employees has also been approved by the cabinet. This will make the state government get their HRA according to their DA and the city where they reside.
For employees having DA in between 25 percent to 50 percent, the HRA will lie in between 9 percent to 27 percent of their salary according to the city. It will be 27 percent for X grade, 18 for Y grade, and 9 for z grade cities.
For employees having DA above 50 percent, HRA will lie in between 10 percent to 30 percent of their salary according to the city. It will be 30 percent for X grade, 20 percent for Y grade, and 10 percent for Z grade cities.
Other proposals which were approved by the cabinet included construction of 22.10km road worth Rs 29.31 crore in Ranchi, 28.9km road worth Rs 27.46 crore in Dumka, 12.62km road worth Rs 28.66 crore in Dhanbad and 38.56km road worth 114.83 crore in Palamu.
The cabinet also approved to give eggs six days a week for Angandwadi children, Rs 13.47 crore state contribution for pharma park at Bijupada under the scheme of government of India for development of micro and small clusters for entrepreneurs.
Apart from this, other approvals include recommendation of the 15th Finance Commission for relaxation in property tax collection rule, CM Special Scholarship scheme, the constitution of co-operative for development and promotion of agriculture and forest produce at the district and state level, the direct appointment of archery coach K.H.Bhegawati Chano for group B post in police department under the provisions of Jharkhand Direct Player Recruitment Rule 2014 and promotion of food processing units in districts, the contractual appointment of professors and associate professors in medical colleges of the state, presentation of CAG report in the assembly and increasing the limit for purchasing a mobile set for the secretariat staff.
