New Delhi, Nov 28: Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 all-rounder Cameron Green of Australia announced on Monday that he had signed up for the next auction.
According to ESPNcricinfo, the IPL mini-auction for the upcoming season will take place in Kochi on December 23. Due to Green’s all-around skills and the fact that the 23-year-old has lots of top-level cricket to offer, many supporters anticipate teams to chase him down and make exorbitant offers for him.
“I have registered for it. It will be an exciting opportunity,” Green said.
“Speaking to a lot of guys, especially in the WA (Western Australia) set up about their experiences in the IPL, they speak so highly of it. They speak about the quality coaches that you are around, the quality players that you are around. They are all the best in the world at their craft.”
“It is a craft that I have not been exposed to too much. I am so open to wanting to learn as much as I can and that is probably one of the best environments to learn in,” Green added.
But despite his potential entry into the richest cricket league on the planet, his father Gary has been helping his son prepare using a bowling machine in preparation for the first Test against the West Indies, which begins on November 30.
“I had a few sessions on the bowling machine basically trying to change my contact point,” Green said.
Green is spending a lot of time developing his Test cricket skills after sitting out the two final ODIs against England earlier this month. In such a short period of time, he has become a highly-valued prospect in this format.
