Ranchi: Students across Jharkhand are actively campaigning on social media, calling for the cancellation of the JSSC CGL examination. The hashtag “Cancel JSSC CGL” has gained significant traction on X (formerly Twitter), with over 400,000 posts as of now. The campaign has also caught the attention of political leaders, with BJP State President Babulal Marandi and Leader of the Opposition Amar Bauri joining the students in their demand.
Political Support for Students
Amar Bauri, in his tweet, highlighted the nationwide trend, stating, “With over 40,000 posts, Cancel JSSC CGL is currently trending at number seven across the country.” He further added that the youth are questioning Chief Minister Hemant Soren about his unfulfilled promises, including unemployment benefits, job creation, and the investigation into exam irregularities.
Babulal Marandi Calls for Action
BJP State President Babulal Marandi also voiced his concerns, urging the Chief Minister to wake up from his slumber. “Hemant ji, listen to the cries of these unemployed youth. If you ignore them, this very anger will wipe out your party in the upcoming elections,” he wrote on X.
Investigation Underway
In response to the growing discontent, the state government has formed a three-member committee to investigate the alleged irregularities. The JSSC CGL exams, held on September 21 and 22 at 823 centers across the state, have faced several complaints, including the repetition of 180 questions and allegations of a paper leak before the September 22 exam. The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has asked all complainants to present valid proof of their claims with a sworn affidavit by October 7.
As the investigation progresses, students and political leaders alike are awaiting the government’s response, with the future of the exam hanging in the balance.
