Mumbai, Nov.8: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has requested assistance from US authorities in retrieving deleted emails and social media posts of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who died on June 14, 2020 at his Mumbai flat. Following a Supreme Court decision, the CBI is investigating the case.

According to sources, the investigators are awaiting a response from the relevant authorities in the United States. The CBI has requested assistance from the United States under the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT), which is a legal arrangement between two or more nations for the purpose of collecting and exchanging information in order to enforce public or criminal laws.

After taking over the Sushant Singh Rajput investigation, the CBI has questioned scores of persons and done a number of forensic tests. They want to look into any possible relationship between his deleted emails and social media posts and his death.

According to sources, India has requested information from Google and Facebook on Sushant Singh Rajput’s deleted emails and posts.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s roommate, his staff, actor Rhea Chakraborty and her family members, and others were interviewed by the CBI earlier in the case. However, no tangible evidence was discovered to prove that he was murdered. Sushant Singh Rajput’s death was also cleared by forensic examinations conducted by multiple government labs.

An FIR has been filed against Rhea Chakraborty and her family members on the accusation of abetment of suicide, based on a complaint filed by the actor’s family. In their investigation, the Mumbai police found no one to blame for the actor’s death.
