Ranchi, May 7: The members of Central Sarna Committee Jharkhand on Saturday protested outside the Pulse Pulse Hospital, Bariatu in Ranchi after the hospital authorities refused to deliver the dead body of one of the members to its family.

According to sources, one of the members of the committee, Karan Lohra met with an accident and was admitted to the hospital a few days back. The family informed that he suffered from head injury but there were stitches on his body as well.

The president of Central Sarna Committee, Ajay Tirkey said that it seems like there has been a case of organ trafficking and the hospital authorities should take proper actions regarding this.

The Chairman of Adivasi Sena, Ajay Kachhap said that the government should take cognizance with regard to this matter. He added that many poor tribal families who visit such hospitals must have been a part of such scam before as well.

After the protest by the members of the Central Sarna Committee, the hospital officials handed over the body of the deceased to the family members without any hassle.

The family members also claimed that the hospital authorities were asking them to pay Rs. 2,50,000 in order to release the body but the due amount was already paid by the family members of the deceased.

However, the officials from the hospital did not turn up in front of the members of the Sarna Committee out of fear in order to ask for the extra money the hospital was claiming, as informed by Navneet Oraon, member of the Central Sarna Committee Jharkhand.

Adivasi Janparishad President Prem Shahi Munda said that if the tribal people lose their mind, then neither this hospital nor such people will exist.

The officials from the hospital have denied giving any statement with regard to this matter.
