Chatra farmer’s son cracks UPSC with AIR 279

Chatra, May 23: Hailing from a remote village in Chatra, Abhinav Prakash proved that hard work and sincerity always lead to success. Son of a farmer Manoj Kumar Singh, 22-year-old Abhinav Prakash has cracked the prestigious UPSC getting 279 rank in his second attempt.

A resident of Godobar village of Hunterganj block, Abhinav has brought laurels to Chatra district and the state by passing the difficult examination.

Abhinav told Lagatar24.com that in this modern era, nothing is possible without education. Rejuvenation of society and country is possible only through education. He said that he is the son of a farmer. “I will do everything possible for the upliftment of the poor.” He also said that he will work within the constitutional ambit. Abhinav stressed the need to raise and educate daughters. He further said that where there is cooperation of parents and the whole family, one should never turn away from honesty and dedication. “Concentration and hard work lead to success. From time to time, self-assessment should be done as to what level of preparation has been achieved.” He said there are immense natural resources for the development of Jharkhand. “Still, many schemes of the government are going on. There are possibilities to do a lot in this state.” On corruption, he said that honesty is the biggest wealth. This should not be compromised. Abhinav said it is difficult to say which cadre he will get. But my priority is Jharkhand. There are immense natural resources for development. My parents supported me with whatever I wanted to study. They provided me with whatever they can beyond their limit and so I cracked this exam,” he added proudly.

Expressing happiness on this success of Abhinav, his septuagenarian grandfather Surendra Prasad Singh and mother Shalata Devi said he made them proud. “It is because of God’s infinite grace and hard work of Abhinav that at the age of just 22, he cracked the country’s most prestigious and toughest exam,” added his mother.

Abhinav is the first youth in the history of Hunterganj to clear the civil service exam. Abhinav Prakash passed the CBSE board exam in 2015 from Gyan Bharti Residential Complex from neighbouring Gaya in Bihar.  He passed ISC in 2017 from Shree Ayyappa Public School, Bokaro and qualified for JEE Mains but he decided to leave the engineering path and pursue graduation in History and Political Science from Satyavati College of Evening, Delhi University in 2020 from Arts stream. He passed the MA exam in 2022 from Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi and also qualified for NET. He was doing Junior Research Fellowship when cracked UPSC civil service examination with 279th rank.

The entire Chatra district is feeling proud because of Abhinav’s success. There is an atmosphere of happiness among his family members. The family members are celebrating the moment with each other. Abhinav gave the credit for his success to his parents, family and teachers.

BJP District Vice President Jugal Singh, mukhiya Brijkishore Singh, Zilla Parishad member Suresh Paswan, BJP Mandal President Arun Chaurasia, advocate Nagendra Singh, CPM leader Ramdev Singh, social worker Bihari Singh, Congress leader Anirudh Singh, teacher Vijay Singh, Nagendra Singh congratulated Abhinav.
