Chatra, June 11: Police have recovered one and a half kilos of opium from a house in the Lavalong Kolkole Kala area under the Simaria police station area. The police arrested the husband and wife on the charge of possessing opium and sent them to jail.

Simaria SDPO Ashok Ravidas told that action was taken on the basis of secret information received by SP Rakesh Ranjan. He told that in Kathar Tola of Kolkole Kala village, illegal opium was found from Md. Abbas’s house.

In order to earn more money, Abbas was trying to sell opium to outsiders. The matter came to light when the police raided his house. Md. Abbas and his wife Aisa Khatoon have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. IRB jawans were also included in the police raid team.
