Ranchi, May 5: The Jharkhand High Court on Thursday dismissed the petition of Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel.

The development took place in the court of Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi.

This case arose after one Ajay Kumar Singh filed a complaint against Patel in 2017 alleging that the actress took Rs 2.5 crore from him to work for his film ‘Desi Magic’ but she neither worked for the film nor returned the money.

Singh alleged that the actress also cheated him when he mounted pressure on her to return the money. He said that the actress gave him a cheque following the pressure but it bounced.

As Patel came to know about the complaint case, she knocked on the door of the Jharkhand High Court to quash the case.  After the matter reached the high court, an order prohibiting coercive action against the actress was. However, finally, her petition was dismissed.

On April 28, the high court had deferred a hearing after an advocate appearing on behalf of Patel sought time to file a counter-affidavit.
