‘Chowkidar’ shot dead at sand mining site in Deoghar

Deoghar, April 22: A ‘chowkidar’ was found dead on the bank of river Ajay in Banka village under Jasidih Police area. The deceased has been identified as Sidheshwar Mahto who was shot dead.

Getting information of the incident, SP Subash Chandra Jatt along with SDPO Pawan Kumar reached the site and took account of the incident.

Jatt later told media persons that it is premature to comment concrete but he suspected the cause of incident an enmity with the deceased. He assured the media that culprit would be booked behind bar soon and the fact behind the incident would come after investigation only.

Highlighting the role of the ‘Chowkidar’ he clarified that a chowkidar has to collect the information but why and how the deceased used to come here is a matter of investigation.

Notably, the police used to depute a ‘chowkidar’ to monitor the illegal activities on sand mining locations.
