Daltonganj, Dec 17: Christmas fever is catching up with the faithful in Latehar.
According to Fr Dilip Ekka of the Society of Jesus Mahuadanr, inflation, price rise and the rising cost of LPG cylinders etc are not going to have any impact on the Christmas celebrations as the faithful are getting ready to have a great celebration. Band of young Christians are singing carols as a token of love and gratitude to Jesus Christ at the doorstep of the Christians and are seeking their blessings.
Christmas gathering will be a grand gala programme this Sunday in various churches. There are eight churches alone in the Mahuadanr block in Latehar. One is in Garu. The biggest one is St Joseph Church where 6000 to 7000 faithful assemble at night to herald the birth of Jesus on December 24/25.
“Churches have been spruced up and light and sound are further decked up,” said Fr Dilip Ekka.
