Ranchi, July 18: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) recovered one live bullet cartridge from a lady passenger at Birsa Munda Airport. She identified herself as Elizabeth L. Peter, a native of Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) settled in the US.
The recovery took place when she was scanned after she turned up at the airport to board an Air Asia flight to Delhi with her children.
The CISF handed her to the officials of Airport police station. An FIR was registered under Arms Act against her. Police seized her passport and cartridge.
Officer –in-charge (OC) of concerned police station Anand Kumar confirmed the recovery saying that the woman pleaded innocence and said that she picked the cartridge from the roadside and kept it for designing ornaments.
OC Anand said the cartridge is used in pistols. “She was released from the police station on PR bond. Now, she will be able to get her passport with the court’s orders for the same. She will have to appear before the court.”
