Dhanbad, Feb 28: Body of a class IX student was found smashed by stone in Gunghusa village under Topchachi police station, around 35 km away from here on late evening of Monday.
A senior police official said that 15 years old Aditya Mandal, a student of GM Public School, had gone for tuition at around 6 pm. When he did not return till late evening, his father began searching him in surrounding areas. At night his father Sudam Mandal got information that Aditya Mandal was lying unconscious in bushes of the village.
Sudam Mandal along with other relatives reached the spot where the body of Aditya was found under pool of blood in the bush. His face and head were badly smashed with stone. The Scooty and the tuition bag of Aditya were also lying there. The police were immediately informed. Senior police officers of Topchachi and Hariharpur police stations also reached the spot and began investigation of the incident.
Baghmara SDPO Nisha Murmu, who reached the house of the victim in the morning today said that prima facie the incident looks murder but it all would be cleared only after a proper investigation. The police have picked up two friends of Aditya Mandal.
Sudam Mandal, a stone businessman, told the police that Vishnu Mandal, a friend of Aditya Mandal, was taking him away to feed up ‘Chowmin’ But he ( Sudan Mandal) did not allow it.
