Dumka, Feb 2: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren equated the BJP’s five-year rule in the state with the Coronavirus pandemic. The CM said that his government had to struggle with the double menace to bring the state on the track of development.
CM Soren was addressing the audience at the 43rd Jharkhand Diwas function here at Gandhi Maidan on Wednesday when he lambasted the previous Raghubar Das government for what he said was plundering the state.
“If the five years of the mal-governance of the BJP which was itself like a pandemic was not enough we had to confront with another pandemic in terms of the outbreak of the Coronavirus soon after assuming the power,” Soren said, adding that his government could, however, manage to overcome the crisis and minimise the miseries of the people of the state.
Whether it be the matter of empty treasury or the deteriorating law and order situation, the Chief Minister said, his government had a tough task to provide relief to the masses which his government successfully managed to handle.
“It was however due to the cooperation and support of the people of the state that Jharkhand earned the countrywide distinction of having undertaken best measures to overcome the menace emerging out of the pandemic” he stated, adding that his government introduced job oriented schemes for rural people to sustain with the livelihood at their doorsteps.
The CM also took the opportunity to highlight popular schemes and measures introduced by his government including the Sarkar Aapke Dwar programs, Dhoti Saree and petrol subsidy schemes which he claimed to be first of its kind elsewhere in the country.
Boasting about the move of his government to introduce payscale to nearly 70,000 para teachers, the chief minister appealed to the other contractual workers to stay optimistic and that their aspirations would be fulfilled one by one.
“Beware of the tactics of the BJP which often misleads the contractual workers to resort to vandalism under the guise of agitation,” Soren said, repeating that the annual event of the party was being organised on a minimum scale due to the pandemic.
JMM chief Shibu Soren also addressed the audience mostly the JMM cadres and supporters from across the district and said that the government should come out with the plan so as to let deprived people get rid of poverty.
“Minerals including coal and iron are in abundance in Jharkhand, so why is it not yet developed. The onus lies with the government and its officials,” senior Soren said in his brief speech.
Party MLAs Nalin Soren, Sita Soren and Basant Soren also addressed the gathering and lauded the initiatives of the Hemant Soren government for the overall development.
