CM inaugurates power grid substation at Chatra

Ranchi, October 1: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today inaugurated newly installed Charlkori grid substation at Itkhori in Chatra district besides Chatra-Latehar transmission line.

The 220/132/33KV grid substation has a total capacity of 400MW.  It will benefit people of Itkhori, Giddhore, Mayurkhand, Hunterganj, Chanhachatti, Kunda, Pratappur Barhi and Simaria blocks. The Chatra-Latehar transmission line is 108km and both the projects related to power involve Rs 189.70 crore.

A special function was organized on the inauguration, where CM Soren also distributed cheques to the beneficiaries of different welfare schemes of the state government. He also laid the foundation stone of as many as 18 projects involving Rs 91.79 crore and inaugurated 82 projects involving Rs 275.45 crore.

Addressing the program CM Soren said that substation and transmission line projects will help to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the state. He also asked people to install power plants on roof top and baron land assuring purchase of surplus power from them.

CM Soren said government’s special focus is being in backward districts and bypass roads are being constructed in cities. He also shared the steps taken to check opium cultivation in the state and made an appeal to people to participate in the process of development.

CM also warned those involved in opium cultivation, saying that strong legal action will be taken against them. He said that people involved in the business of drugs are not just destroying self only but the coming generation also. He asked government officials to make villagers aware of different welfare schemes and development projects of the government to make people self dependent.
