Ranchi, April 7: Chief Minister Hemant Soren laid the foundation stone for the beautification of the Siram Toli Sarna Sthal on Thursday. The estimated budget for the new Sarna Sthal is estimated to be Rs 4,98,03,600 and would have a four-storied building, electrical tower, guardrooms along with paintings related to tribal culture on the walls of Sarna Sthal.

Ajay Tirkey, President of the Central Sarna Committee, said that the tribal society is working for development and upliftment of the tribals and has requested the government to make a strict law to protect the social and religious lands of the tribal people.

Soren said that the government would work to save the historical Sarna Sthals for the coming generations.

“The tribal society has definitely lagged behind in the present age, but it is not lagging behind in saving its culture. The renovation of this Sarna Sthal should have been done much earlier but it’s never too late. The government has planned to renovate Sarna Sthals, both new and old, in Jharkhand in the near future,” he said.

The CM added that with an increase in population, the number of Sarna Sthals have also gone up in the State. There are many Sarna Sthals that are not mentioned in the papers but it is important that these Sthals should also be taken care of.

He concluded the event and said that the quality of the Sirom Toli Sarna Sthal should be of top quality and he will personally inspect the place from time to time. If there is any compromise in the quality then there will be consequences from the government.
