Coal ministry to gift state of art library to students in Ranchi

Ranchi, Feb 17: The Union Ministry of Coal will set up a state-of-the-art library in Ranchi under corporate social responsibility. The library has a 5000-sitting capacity and will be constructed on the land provided by Ranchi University in the state capital.

The ministry will sign a memorandum of understanding with the Jharkhand government today at the Project Building.  Besides, the ministry of coal will also construct housing accommodations in the Godda district under CSR for which a memorandum will be signed with the state government. Eastern Coalfields Limited which is a subsidiary unit of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) will execute this CSR project in Godda.

Union Minister of Coal Prahlad Joshi who is in Ranchi will attend the signing of the MOU between the ministry and the state government.  

Notably, Prahlad Joshi, today inaugurated a newly constructed executive hostel and security barracks at Gandhinagar colony of the CCL in Ranchi. The minister said that the manpower and the mining power of the CCL have phenomenally increased in the last couple of years hence infrastructure expansions were required.

Later on, the minister chaired a meeting with chief managing directors and other officials of the CCL, Eastern Coalfields Limited, BCCL and CMPDI. He directed officials to achieve their coal production and off-take target for FY 2022-23.
