Ranchi, July 7: A coal trader, Ranjit Kumar Gupta (48), sustained bullet injuries after two bike borne assailants shot at him near old Argora Chowk under the Argora police station in broad daylight.
Officer in charge of the concerned police station Brij Kumar Jha confirmed the incident saying that Gupta was ‘undergoing treatment and out of danger.’
Asked about the assailants and reason behind the attack, Jha expressed ignorance saying ‘probe is one.’
A locality resident expressed his concern over the incident saying the firing took place near a Hanuman temple on Argora Pundag road. “Gupta took a bullet on his thigh,” he said.
