Ranchi, Oct.9: The district administration in Chatra has launched a Collector’s fellowship programme for students pursuing graduate and postgraduate courses in social sciences. The duration of the fellowship programme will be three months or six months or 9 months or 12 months extendable as per the requirement of district and candidates’ availability.
Qualification desires from the candidates include proof of pursuing graduation or post graduations from reputed universities in the courses like rural development, public policy, gender, development studies, economics and related fields with good verbal and written communication abilities in English and Hindi.
Apart from this, the administration expects candidates to have good command over MS Office, keen interest in rural development and public administration besides a willingness to travel and reside in rural areas of the district.
Under the fellowship programme, students will be given the opportunity to understand the working of various district line departments, block offices and other grass-root institutions. They will be provided accommodation and vehicle support by the administration and will be engaged in the projects of their areas of specialization and interest.
On completion of the fellowship, the candidates will be given certificates from the district administration signed by the deputy commissioner of Chatra.
An advertisement asking interested students to send curriculum vitae (CV) for offline internship has been published in a local vernacular daily. The last date for submission of CV is before October 20. Candidates have been asked to send CV through email dc-cha@nic.in and dmftpmuchatra@gmail.com with the subject line ‘Collector’s Fellowship. Candidates have also been asked to mention the number of months they can dedicate to the internship in the email body.
Deputy development commissioner of Chatra, Sunil Kumar Singh, confirmed the programme saying it is the brainchild of deputy commissioner Anjali Yadav to promote the development of the district through District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) fund.
“As Chatra is a backward district, the administration wants to pave the path of development through a fellowship programme. The programme will be executed by DMFT,” Singh said.
