New Delhi, April 16: The Congress party has asked poll expert Prashant Kishor to join the party. Prashant gave a detailed presentation on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections at a meeting of key Congress leaders on Saturday at party president Sonia Gandhi’s residence, according to the sources.
“Prashant Kishor gave a presentation on the 2024 elections, which will be looked at by a small group of party leaders. The Congress president will decide on who will lead the group,” Senior Congress leader KC Venugopal said.
According to top party sources, Prashant stated that the Congress should focus on 370 Lok Sabha seats and form coalitions for the remaining seats. Athe meeting, Rahul Gandhi stated that a small group of leaders will discuss the presentation further.
Prashant Kishore also reviewed strategy for the next Assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, according to sources.
Notably, Kishor’s talks with the Gandhis broke down last year, just weeks after Mamata Banerjee’s triumph in Bengal, in which the strategist played a key part. Later, the Congress hired a former associate of Kishor to run its election campaigns.
